The History of Scandia Down
For over three decades, Scandia Down has been bringing the best of European-style comfort into discerning homes across the United States.
The origins of this company dates back to 1971 as a catalog business based in Seattle called World Wide Bedding Co. They sold a comforter-and-linens set called the “Scandia Down Ensemble”. It helped introduce the European way of dressing the bed to the American market.
By the 1980s, the Company had about 80 authorized dealers of Scandia Down® products and also franchised Scandia Down® Shops across the country, as well as a catalog known as Natural Elegance. The business was soon renamed Scandia Down® and continued to flourish as more Americans began to appreciate the loftiness of superior down and softness of high thread count linens

In the 1990s, they began using their coveted goose-in-a-nest logo, which quickly became a trademark symbol of style and elegance for home furnishings. They also introduced our highly regarded Limited Warranty, and now stand behind our manufactured products for as long as you own them.
Today they offer an extensive collection of elegant options for the bed, bath and home. What has not changed through the years, however, is their steadfast commitment to using only premium white goose down and sumptuously woven fibers crafted with the utmost care.
